“…we always find the peace and relaxation we are looking for… each time we visit, we discover new stories of its people and their traditions…”
Alvaro Navarro, writer of the collection of recipes from the Hostería, La cocina de la Hostería del Pedregoso.
Hostería del Pedregoso is a remote country fishing lodge in the province of Chubut in central Patagonia, some fifteen kilometers from the village of Cholila, which means “beautiful valley” in the language of the Mapuche Indians. It stands on the shores of Cholila lake, not only a major draw for fly fishing enthusiasts but also an attractive location for hikers and nature lovers alike.
With only nine bedrooms, the Hostería’s style is warm and homely, with visitors made to feel like family friends. The downstairs living areas are comfortable and spacious, with log fires for the chill evenings and floor-to-ceiling windows which look out onto inspiring views of the river, the lake itself and the Dos Picos and Tres Picos mountains.
“… while the Hostería itself is simple and unpretentious, the location, right on the edge of the lake, is absolutely stunning…” Lynne Hughes, wife of former British Ambassador to Argentina (2004-2008). |
